SOUTHEASTRANS RECEIVES 2009 PACESETTER AWARD
April 24, 2009, Atlanta, GA – Southeastrans, Inc. was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the fastest growing companies in Atlanta during their 2009 Pacesetter Awards ceremony at the Cobb Galleria. The weekly business publication surveyed privately owned companies in the 20-county metro Atlanta area to find the top 50 companies with the fastest growth between 2006 and 2008. Southeastrans ranked 35th in growth based on a weighted average growth index score used to even the field among companies of different sizes. Only companies with annual revenues between $1 million and $300 million were considered in the ranking. During the period surveyed, Southeastrans’ annual revenues increased from $18.9 million to $43.9 million, a 132% increase over the three year term.
Southeastrans has managed Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation programs in Georgia since the company was founded in 2000. In 2006, the company expanded into 36 counties in Central Georgia under a third contract award from the Georgia Department of Community Health. Southeastrans also manages Medicaid transportation in 46 other counties in north Georgia and metro Atlanta. In 2008, Southeastrans contracted with Volunteer State Health Plan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BlueCross/BlueShield of Tennessee, to manage the statewide transportation needs of TennCare members enrolled through the managed-care company’s BlueCare and TennCareSelect programs. Southeastrans coordinates non-emergency medical transportation services for 1.3 million Medicaid members in Georgia and Tennessee and provides over 3.5 million trips annually.
