Southeastrans, Inc. awarded contracts for three regions by the Department of Community Health to manage Medicaid non-emergency transportation in Georgia.
January 2, 2007, Atlanta, GA – Southeastrans has been awarded contracts to manage Medicaid non-emergency transportation (NET) in three of Georgia’s five Medicaid NET regions, the maximum number of regions allowed for a single vendor. The three contracts for the Atlanta, North, and Central Regions cover 82 counties in Georgia. The posted award amount for all three regions exceeds $48 million annually. The annual contracts have renewal options that extend through June 2011.

Southeastrans has been managing the Atlanta Region since 2000 and the North Region since 2005. The Central Region which includes the Macon area will switch to Southeastrans in March, 2007. Under these contracts, Southeastrans will be managing the non-emergency transportation needs of over 700,000 Medicaid Members. In 2006, Southeastrans coordinated over 1 million trips for Medicaid Members residing in the Atlanta and North Regions. The Central Region is expected to require an additional 500,000 trips annually.
