Regulatory Compliance
Since Southeastrans is a transportation management company and not a direct provider of transportation services, we contract with multiple transportation providers to offer a range of services at the lowest possible cost. In order to assure the highest levels of service and quality throughout the transportation network, we require all providers to meet stringent guidelines regarding passenger safety, comfort, and convenience. Our Compliance Department inspects, monitors, and authorizes subcontracted transportation providers to operate within our system. Compliance personnel also ensure that transportation providers maintain current licensure, insurance, and other required records and documents.
Southeastrans’ Compliance Department is responsible for ensuring that all subcontracted transportation providers meet our driver, vehicle, and insurance requirements. All providers must submit and maintain documentation verifying compliance with our stringent driver and vehicle insurance requirements. The Compliance Department routinely verifies that each provider’s insurance coverage remains in force at the required limits of coverage. Motor vehicle records are obtained from the state for each driver to insure that drivers remain in compliance with traffic violation and accident standards.
Every vehicle in a provider’s fleet must pass bi-annual inspections regarding vehicle safety, cleanliness, and appearance. Additionally, unannounced spot inspections are conducted randomly throughout the year to assure that the passenger vehicles remain compliant. Vehicle inspections are video recorded for documentation and reference purposes.
Southeastrans reserves the right to remove a provider’s vehicle from service if the vehicle does not meet our safety and comfort standards.
Southeastrans issues standardized photo ID badges to all approved drivers and all authorized vehicles are identified by a Southeastrans Vehicle Inspection Window Decal.
