Since 2011 Southeastrans has been Core Accredited from URAC, a Washington, DC based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. Accreditation is a process by which an impartial organization (URAC) reviews a company’s operations to ensure that the company is conducting business in a manner consistent with national standards. To further our commitment to the delivery of quality service, Southeastrans has a Quality Management Committee (QMC) comprised of department managers and front line personnel who, as “subject matter experts,” serve as the entity responsible for the oversight of all quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
Southeastrans is a Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Certified company. PASS Training is part of the core training from the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA). The (PASS) Trainer and Driver Certification Program ensures that community transportation drivers have current expertise in passenger assistance techniques and sensitivity skills appropriate for serving persons with disabilities. The PASS program is designed as a three-day Train-the-Trainer to certify trainers who can then train drivers or as a two-day Driver program in which CTAA instructors train drivers. Some of the advantages of taking the PASS certification program are the ability to reduce organizational liability; comprehensive, up-to-date training on the assistance drivers should be providing to passengers with special needs; intensive emergency situation training; certification oversight provided by national leaders in the community transportation field; and updates for all participants on relevant regulatory changes.
Southeastrans is a member of the Georgia Health Care Association. The Georgia Health Care Association and Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) has represented long term care providers in the state for over sixty years and currently serves skilled nursing centers, assisted living communities, and SOURCE agencies. Through quality advancement initiatives, lobbying efforts, informative educational seminars and operational support, GHCA/GCAL continues to strive to meet their members’ needs and the best interests of the long term care profession.
